I'm presuming this 10.56C is on a different system than the laptop, or have
you managed to install it? In any case, you need to save configuration and
save, again, in main menu before closing WL. If that's not working, then
something about the installation is corrupted and you should uninstall and
reinstall. Remember to move the files out the zip folder, onto the desktop,
before invoking setup.exe.

Rob,
As you suggested, I unzipped _wl1057hmsiupg.zip_
(http://www.writelog.com/Downloads/wl1057hmsiupg.zip) onto my Desktop and ran
setup.exe from there.
That allowed the 10.57H upgrade to run successfully.
With 10.57H, however, I continue to have the same problem that I had with
10.56C. That is, in SETUP I PORTS, RADIO TYPE and BAUD RATE are not being
saved, even after I do a SAVE CONFIGURATION. Each time I start WL, I have to
reset the radio and its baud rate in order to get radio control. This is not
a
horrific problem, just a nuisance, but I'd like to get it fixed.
In your note, you said "I'm presuming this 10.56C is on a different system
than the laptop, or have you managed to install it? In any case, you need to
save configuration and save, again, in main menu before closing WL. ." The
laptop was running 10.56C, and that has now been upgraded to 10.57H. Please
tell me more about the "need to save configuration and save, again, in main
menu before closing WL". If you are you saying that I must do a SETUP I SAVE
CONFIGURATION and a FILE SAVE before closing WL, I normally do that to save
the log file. However, the RADIO TYPE and BAUD RATE are not being saved.
