Just an update on my status. Still living in the FEMA trailer on the front
yard. Fired the contractor a couple months ago as he
was doing a terrible job and broke just about everything he touched. All
repairs are completed. Sanding of the ceilings and
painting is finished in all bedrooms and hallway. Working on the living room,
kitchen and dining room now. Buying our flooring
today. Hope to be in the house by the end of the month or first week in
August. The tile I laid in the hall bathroom came out very
nice so I'll be doing the master bathroom, kitchen and dining room too. The
rest of the house will be wood, but I decided to sub
that out. I could do it, but the price for installation was too good to pass
up and it would take me at least a month to do it.
The best part of completing the remodeling myself is that I get to buy all new
cool tools like a miter saw, wet saw for tile,
pneumatic nailer, Dremel tool, etc.! I can't believe I lived this long without
buying a Dremel tool. Can't wait to carve pumpkins
with it in October!
I'm guessing my first contest back will be SARTG or at least that's my goal.
