I had this problem when I was setting up my PRO3 to work with a Buxcom
Rascal. I don't recommend them now. My problem turned out to be MMTTY, and
WL all using the same com port. Changing the com port for WL fix my
problem.

Subject: [WriteLog] New Install Help

Hi,

WL had been highly recommended to me by several serious contesters. Having
a bit of experience I had came to the conclusion I wanted a program that had
some better and different features than some I've used. So I recently
bought and installed the program. Immediately a major problem surfaced
along with a giant irritant.

When selecting the radio and clicking OK in the ports setup my radio
immediately goes into transmit. The radio is an ICOM 746Pro and the
interface is a Rigblaster Plug & Play USB to serial adapter that also has in
and out audio isolation. I'm using Windows XP Home on a home built
computer. This setup has worked well with several other contesting/logging
and radio control programs. The troubleshooting section of the Rigblasters
manual says the RTS and/or DTR is being maintained high by the software.
The manual also states the Rigblaster has been found to work with 100
software programs without problems. I really don't want to buy anymore
hardware as this setup has worked for me for nearly a year with other
software. Anyone have any ideas?

The giant irritant is the fact there is not a set of "F" buttons with macro
names for use with a mouse. Every other amateur radio software program I've
used has had that and never had a reason to suspect that WL would not. I
just simply cannot imagine a program with the reputation that WL has would
not have such a feature. It seems one is reduced to making a "F" key cheat
sheet with "F" keys and their functions and then pounding the keyboard all
day and all night thru a contest. Not my idea of fun at all.

Jim, AB0UK
