My local Walmart has a stock of desktop PCs for $299. 8-10 eMachines on the shelf with Sempron processors and XP Home and one Compaq with a dual core AMD and Vista - all same price. 1Gb RAM, IIRC - 160Gb HDs. Did not include monitors.
