I'm already using a virtual comport over a USB link from my PC to
WinKeyer USB. I am using a USB hub and the PC thinks all COM ports
from COM1 to COM16 are already assigned. It won't allow me to assign
that port to anything below COM17. It looks like all COM ports on
this hub are assign numbers > 16I don't want to have to jump through a
million hoops in Windoze to force it to assign this COM port to
something below COM16. BTW, I have a similar problem on my laptop.
My laptop assigned COM23 to the WinKeyer USB port because it thought
the others had been assigned. My understanding is that I can't get
Windows to assign the lower COM ports on my laptop unless I completely
remove all existing COM ports, mess around in the registry, and
re-install everything in more preferred order. I'd rather not do
that. Why the heck is there a limitation like this in WriteLog. It
seems pointless to me.
