I did the same thing as Rich then remembered the rules. It is okay to have
a dupe for QTC purposes only. Toward the end if the contest when it was
hard to find a non-dupe, I pounced on stations that I did not exchanged QTC
and called them like "W4ZE W4ZE ANY QTC?". I entered 000 for the serial
number. I picked up more QTC contacts this way and no one told me that we
are a dupe and turned me away. I guess you will have to remember this for
next year.

Do you mean after you hit the CR and entered them in the log, or when they
were saved several qso's before?
