Thanks, I inally found the writelog.ini in the hidden directory. I could
see that writelog had added items making it different then the original
writelog.ini in c:\windows\.
I was able to correct my batch files to save a copy for writelog.ini
from c:\...\virtualstores\windows\ location. That works fine even though
hidden normally. The batch file to init writelog.ini can also write to
that location fine.
But I also copy over different configuration of fkeys.ini for different
contests. I first tried putting fkeys.ini in c:\Ham Programs\... where I
had been putting my various ham apps. But the batch file was not able to
read or write to that location. Messed up in file security crap. So I am
being forced to make a lot of app directories at the c:\ level. Ugly.
I finally made a fkeys directory, set the file permissions to full
control and then put the fkeys.ini there. And the batch files now can
read and write the various ini files. It seems stupid to have all this
security when the user has to override it to get any thing done!
So then I proceeded to try to install MMTTY. This Windows 7 64 bit
machine has the microHAM USB Device Router 7.7.1 installed and I tried
to configure it the same as on my XP contest machine using the
microKEYER 2R+ device.
Problem #1: The microHAM router does not seem to be installing all the
virtual ports until I open the router configuration window. That is, it
takes a long time (minutes) before the microKEYER 2R+ tabs are shown. I
am assuming this is the virtual ports being created the first time I
open the configuration window rather then when the computer starts up?
Problem #2: MMTTY version 1.66G is installed in c:\mmtty and c:\mmtty2
following Wayne's description. The mmtty plug-in was installed. After
copying the two lines the mmtty plug-in wrote in the c:\windows version
of writelog.ini over to the ...\virtualstores\windows version, I was
able to get rttyrite windows using mmtty for each of the two radios.
But mmtty will only see Left Channel audio from the USB Audio CODEC even
when I select the USB Audio CODEC on the SoundCard tab and the Right
channel source is selected. The audio stream is still that of the
microKEYER 2R+ "Recording/Digital" left channel volume control instead
of the right channel volume control. That is, I can not get the two
rttyrite windows to see audio from the left radio and from the right
radio. They both see only the left radio in spite of what I think I am
telling mmtty to do????? mmtty itself has the same behavior of only
seeing left channel audio in spite of selecting right channel on the
mysc tab.
Even weirder, with both rttyrite windows open and the RTTY Control
panels configured for left and right channels of the USB Audio CODEC,
when I select Radio 1 (left) source for the left digital control I get
the left radio's signal being displayed in the left rttyrite windows.
And when I select Radio 2 (right) source for the LEFT digital control I
get the right radio's audio signal being displayed in the right rttyrite
window. That is the record audio is switching between rttyrite windows
but it is always coming from the left channel of the microKEYER 2R+
control not the left and right channel controls as it should be.????????
Any suggestions as to what to try next????
