My restart episodes vary considerably. Most contests run error free without
a glitch. Then once in a while I'll get the "Writelog cannot find the
server ..... Please switch to etc" message and the only cure seems to be to
use Task Manager to shut down WL and then restart. What server? I've never
lost any log entries with these lock ups. What perplexes me the most is why
they occur in such a random manner. Sometimes I think its a glitch in the
particular contest module being used, although I've never thought to keep a
log of which contest modules have experienced the problem.
Recently I've started to think I may be the culprit. During a contest I
usually use the "wrist rest" on the keyboard to keep my hands and arms from
becoming tired from holding them up in the air. I've started to wonder if I
may be instigating the problem by letting my wrist accidently depress a CTRL
or ALT key when reaching for an F key to send a message macro. I wonder if
something like that would cause WL to barf - never tried to intentionally
duplicate it before or after a contest.
