Hi Mike,
I ran into this problem a few years ago and finally figured out that the
timing of the auto cq timer is different than in CW mode. Where 2.5 seconds
works fine for CW it does not do so for RTTY. You need to start at about 7
or 8 seconds for RTTY. Apparently the timing happens for the whole cycle for
RTTY whereas it works for the delay time after transmission for CW, at least
that is the way I rationalize it. Try that and see if this fixes your
issue.
