[WriteLog] First time setup help with wav files!?!?!?

Hello I am setting up Writelog for my first contest, ever.  I have recorded a 
wav file in windows sound recorder in vista and 7.  Using both files and the F2 
function writelog displays the message 'msg2.wav is not mono'.

How can I record in mono???
