That is correct - the change does not take place until Sept. 1st of this 
year. ARRL Contest Manager KX9X put out a post about it on Face Book earlier 
this week. The current software will handle FD 2012 just fine.

As I understand it, the "split" is not effective until September 1, 2012, so 
there would be no effect on this year's FD.

How are the new Ontario sections being handled in Field Day?
ARRL site says it will affect our Field Day.  While sections don't
count as multiplies ..... if an Ontario station sends something other
than  ON, my WriteLog program isn't going to accept it?
Any updates I am missing?
