Pretty frustrating weekend with WL and the YCCC So2R box.
I was never able to get around the bug that pops up the "WriteLog Sound
SendWave Error" message when both xmit outputs are set to the same sound
card.
I tried a number of experiments with using the single sound card. What I
learned is that messages sent by F-keys are being output on both channels.
So the So2R box works with recorded messages. However, the audio from the
mic is only being passed through on the channel that is selected (left radio
= left channel, right radio = right channel). So I could work the second
radio with recorded messages, but no microphone.
Not sure if this is something new, but I don't recall it working this way
last summer.
I first used WL with the sound card for voice keying 10 years ago. I had a
Windows XP machine and the least expensive Soundblaster SB16 card I could
get. It always sounded fantastic. Since upgrading to Windows 7, it has
been nothing but a PITA. Delay through the sound card, difficult to find
audio level settings, etc. I know this is due to changes Microsoft
inflicted, but I can't count the hours I have wasted on this.
Anyone have a setup they are happy with?
