Have you configured Windows Explorer to display hidden files and
directories? AppData is, by default, hidden.

I did accept the defaults on installation. WL is installed in C:\program
files(x86)\Writelog\Programs
Data files are in C:\Users\username\documents\writelog\
File structure appears the same as it was with V11 which was installed
using defaults.
WL V12 appears to work as it should on first test.

In Wayne's installation note I see the following:

I am wondering whether this provides a clue?
In C:\Users\username\ there is no AppData folder but there again I am
using V10 and Wayne's note refers to W7 so I don't know whether to expect
to see an AppData folder or not.

I have to admit that other than following the instructions I can't think
of any other useful advice. I too am using a Win10 environment. The only
other issue might be where you have WL installed. before I used to install
in a seperate C:\HAM\writelog folder but I blieve the recent wisdom is to
use the defaults. Unfortunatly I have been trying to find this info written
somewhere but have come up empty-handed.
The more i think about it the more I suspect this is the problem. That WL
is not installed (programme and data files) where it is expected.
I will continue to search to find this in a documented format.
