The WriteLog 12.34K installer added Windows Defender Firewall entries
for various features.The entry it added for WriteLog networking (the
feature in the Tools menu, Register accept...)is not permissive enough.
Depending on whether you had run WriteLog networking before installing
12.34K, you might or might not be affected. The symptom of the problem
(and of any other exclusion of WriteLog networking by Windows Defender
Firewall) is that Tools/Link-to-network silently does nothing.
Regardless of whether you see the issue, the fix is to:
a) Download the version 12.34K2 kit (note the trailing digit 2) from:
https://writelog.com/downloads/writelog-versions
b) Run it TWICE.
Note this checkbox: http://writelog.com/images/wl1234k2-installer-fix.png
It must be OFF the first time you run. (This removes the insufficient entry)
c) Turn the box ON the second time through. This adds the corrected
firewall entry.
