May not be Writelog itself sending the tone.
What happens here is that Writelog keys a port on startup and what is happening
is it keys the rig itself. Therefore the tone is the rig's sidetone monitor for
CW or RTTY.
When you exit the program it no longer keys the rig and thus the sidetone ends.

Subject: [WriteLog] Writelog Interfering Tone
When I launch the program, a tone is transmitted to the rig and come out
through the speakers, or through the earphones if they are plugged in.
This tone remains constant and is around 800hz or so. It does not change when
changing bands or frequency.
When exiting the program, the tone disappears.
This is interfering with hearing weak stations, and is just maddening.
Am running the newest version. Rig is TS890, but did the same with the
TS590
Any suggestions?
Thanks Jim W4LC
