I am having a problem with WSJT-X logging fro Field Day in Writelog.
Here is what I am running:
Windows 11
WSJT-X ver 2.6.1 (latest download)
Writelog UDPListenerV11
Omnirig ver 1.20
Writelog ver 12.79F full
Kenwood TS-590SG
With a fresh install and default settings for a new FD log, everything
works.
However, if I change the Entry window heading from "RCV" to "CLA",
Writelog no longer receives the FD class from UDPListener.
Interestingly enough, if I change the Entry window heading from "QTH" to
"SEC" it still imports the section correctly.
Maybe just an annoyance, but I like the headings "CLA" and "SEC" much
better than the default FD headings.
Here is a test case.
If the WSJT-X log window has the following entries:
Call: w2aw
Rpt Sent: blank
Rpt Rcvd: 1b
Grid: blank
Exch sent: 2a az
Exch rcvd: 2b eny
UDPListener shows:
OK <call:4>w1aw <gridsquare:0> <mode:3>FT8 <rst_sent:0> <rst_rcvd:2>1b
<qso_date:8>20240423 <time_on:6>011234 <qso_date_off:8>20240423
<time_off:6>011234 <band:3>20m <freq:9>14.075500
<station_callsign:6>WA2DFI <my_gridsquare:4>DM43
<contest_id:14>ARRL-FIELD-DAY <SRX_STRING:6>2b eny <class:2>2b
<arrl_sect:3>eny <eor>
Writelog logs:
W1AW 1B ENY
Writelog seems to get the section from the "Exch rcvd" field in the
WSJT-X log window, and the class from the "Rpt Rcvd" field in the log
window. The "class" and "arrl_sect" fields in the UDP stream are
correct, but Writelog seems to pull the class from the "rst_rcvd" field.
While I do have a workaround (leave the "RCV" field name alone) any help
would be appreciated. This year will be my 57th ARRL FD in a row, and I
have used Writelog for over 20 years, and it is the best and easiest to
use of the contenders that support every contest. Our networking started
with daisy-chained serial cables; we now use WiFi. But I digress...

Scotty WA2DFI
