Anyone know how to cheat the headset monitor to turn on during transmit.
Wearing muff type headsets is difficult to hear yourself while
trasmitting during contest. I have the DVS-2 and can monitor it in head
sets but not my "live" voice. I connnected an amplifier to the audio out
on the back and also from the din connector for the DVS-2. This appears
to locked out during transmit. I was reading a 990 product review in a back
issue of CQ and the author mentioned the lack of a monitor switch but
thought there may be a way to do that with the accessory phone patch?????

I have been told by reliable sources that there is a SAFE way to increase
the power output (150 watts) on the 990. Anyone have info on that?

First time on yaesu reflector hope it gets through. Just purchased my
FT-990 and love so far. Except for he lack of a monitor.
