Larry;
Yaesu uses a very simple tuning encoder in their HF radios. The
encoder does not provide tuning direction. It is determined by the
control IC that is used with it. I bet if you tell Yaesu Tech
support what problem you have, they will know what needs to
be done. I suspect the controller chip has problems. Good luck
