        Hi,

I got my 1000D recently, had some questions about it, so I called
Yaesu and they said that I need to do "circuit improvement" on the
radio. They were pretty vague as far as what the improvement is all
about, something like "sensitivity on 15M" and also "auto tuner
speed", and also some other improvements ... It certainly had nothing
to do with problems I had (which later appears to be my antenna
problem), but they say it's "strongly recommended". The parts are
gonna be free (Yaesu says it's $350 value), but labor is not, neither
is shipping (from Maryland to California and back, and you know how
heavy it is), so I'm looking at a minimum $150 expense.

Question I'd like to get a list's wise answer for is: has anybody
heard about the circuit improvement, does anybody know what's it all
about, and is it worth it?

The radio is about 1.5 years old, serial # 3G330097.

Thanks in advance for your help,

        serge
