Alex RV6ACD/mm asked if anyone could answer the following questions
regarding an FT-10 (and TH-22) he recently purchased.

1) When using an external 13.5vdc power source, will the internal
battery pack of the unit risk damage from overcharging? Is it
correct to assume that an external power source WILL be charging
    the internal battery pack?

2) Rather than using Alkaline batteries in one of the power packs,
is it acceptable to use rechargeable batteries? He understands
that there may be a risk of overcharging... but is there anything
else he should be concerned about?

FWIW, Alex has been at sea for about a year criss-crossing the Pacific.
He can occasionally be found around 2300z or 0100z on 14219 SSB.

I'll be happy to forward any comments.
