Jan & the group,

I got a cable and translator for $50. It's hardwired for one particular
rig. That price includes the level translator in a 25 pin D housing, the
cable with connector for YOUR rig, and a loopback connector and test
software. You probabbly need a 25 pin to 9 pind adaptor - $6 from Radio
Shack.

See http://www.sarrio.com/sarrio/w1gee.html to order.

I'm using mine with an FT840, Log-EQF, and SOFT990. Worked right 1st time.
