Hi all,

Two weeks ago I sent the following to tech support but have had
no reply and wonder if anyone has any ideas.

        Many thanks!

Sirs,

        re: 1000MP Ser # 5L030192 Ver 951117e2

The above radio has suddenly decided that it will not tune thru the
internal ATU at freqs. between 14.049 and 14.115. When one tunes the radio
with the ATU engaged the WAIT light to the right of the TUNER light
illuminates. When one attempts to Tx between these freqs. with the tuner
engaged the SWR goes to MAX and the Power at full indicates 10W - the HIGH
SWR light does NOT illuminate.

When one hits the TUNE button the SWR goes again to MAX but there
is no sound of the ATU attempting to tune.

The antenna is resonant in this range and when one disengages the
ATU the power is 100W and the SWR 1.6:1. Outside these freqs the tuner
appears to be working normally.

Just in case there is any relevance: This radio originally had the
well documented 15 and 17M problems and was fixed by the selling dealer with
arangements made directly by Chip. For quite a time after that fix it was
able to tune the above range.

        Would much appreciate your suggestions.
