Have just read about your experiences with the above mod from INRAD. for
the IF stages of the 1000MP.
You mention that the IF gain has to be decreased in menu 9-1.
I should be grateful if you would let me know how you determine by what
amount the gain has to be decreased.( Are you listening for hiss or just
the volume of the signal?)
I am contemplating getting the mod and just want to make sure that I
would be capable of making the necessary adjustments.
Is the mod necessary for all 1000MP irrepective of date of manufacture?
(Mine was manufactured, according to the serial number, in July 1996).
Here in the UK I haven't heard of INRAD, and I wondered if it was worth
replacing the Yaesu filters ( for SSB) in the rig with the ones supplied
by INRAD.
