I just had a nearby lightning hit (probably via a phone line) that took out a
few things
in the shack, but luckily the radios were spared EXCEPT for a wierd problem
with my FT990. Everything seems perfectly normal with it except power output
is now 50 watts maximum, rather than the usual 100. I can't find any other
discrepancies but this. In fact, the RF power output control seems normal. It
reaches 50w at about the 12 o'clock position, but never advances from there.

I wonder if there is a microprocessor command that controls this that may be
scrambled? I've done the initializations that are mentioned in the manual
(pushing 1&3 and GEN & INT on power up).

I'd like to hear any ideas before shipping off to Yaesu.

Will
