I'd also concur with the 1000MP or 1000D.  I've heard on the Icom reflector
that most of the spur problems in the 775 are for units with serials <2000
but caveat emptor.  The 756 is a radio in the class of the FT-920 both of
which are good radios but perhaps not in the class of the 1000MP without
other modifications. Dual receive is a definite asset. (The 920 needs better
filters.)  W8KX
