[Yaesu] FT100 & ATAS100 No Manual Tune

I can't get my FT100 to manually tune the ATAS100. I hold the PTT in and
press the UP or Down button - the antenna doesn't move. Tuning appears
 to be ok in the automatic mode for all bands.  10 meters will sometimes tune
on auto most of the time I get a HI SWR  message.  Any suggestions? AM I missing
something???
