Hello OMs/YLs:

I have a FT-1kD that dates with a serial number: 0J090276. I think this
translates to a 1990 production run ???
I bought it second hand in JULY 1996 from an estate sale, so I do not
know the history of its repair/replacement of battery.

What are the symptoms of a faulty (Lithium) battery?
It is my understanding that this battery should last 5 years before
needing to be replaced.

I have only the FT-1000 Operating Manual, which does not seem to mention
replacement instructions.
Where is this battery located? Is it difficult to access and to
replace?
What is the part number of the battery?
Must this battery be obtained via Yaesu?; if not, what are other
sources of
    supply/cost ???

Thanks es 73s,

    de ~ Vince ~
