I just soldered the components in the radio. I dialed up my local police at
856.2125, and I was receiving the dispatcher. The receiver is not that
sensitive, but that may be because I have not replaced the UHF front end
transistors as of yet. I will replace the transistors in the next few days
and post my results to the lists. presently they are 2SC4226, but they
should be 2SC4228's for the sensitivity to work up to 900 MHz.
This is by far the biggest step forward in the modification of this radio,
thus far, and it will probably get better as I work with it some more!
