Jeff,

The pinout for the FT-1000D CAT connector (6 pin DIN) is on page 7
of the manual:

                Pin 1: Ground
                Pin 2: Serial Out (TTL)
                Pin 3: Serial In (TTL)
                Pin 4: PTT
                Pin 5: S/PO (AGC voltage)
                Pin 6: n/c

There are several RS-232 to TTL converter schematics on the web
and almost an equal number of niche marketers selling interfaces
and/or kits. You can also purchase the Yaesu FIF-232 interface
from most Yaesu dealers. Unfortunately, I do not have a current
list of URLs ...

Does anyone know where I can find a schematic for a CAT cable for a 1000D? I
went through the archives all the way back to 1998, nothing found. I have a
cable that I use with my Yaesu VX5R, FT-90, etc, this level converter cable
also works with my Icom 706. All I really need is the pinout for the large
DIN connector on the 1000D, so I can make an adapter plug. Thanks in advance
.
