Perhaps someone with more definitive information will chime in, but it seems
that the FT-1000 firmware has been set at 6.0 for many years now. I believe
the only source of information on available upgrades is by phoning Yaesu
service department or by looking at chapter 5 ("Modifications") of the
Service Manual.
