[Yaesu] Display question

I have a new Mark V FT-1000MP Field and I have a question about the 
display brightness. When it has been off for several hours and I turn 
it on, the display is rather dim initially. It gradually brightens up 
over the next minute or two and remains bright as long as it is on. 
Is this normal behavior?
