[Yaesu] Yaesu FT1000MP and CW

Hi all,
Can someone help me please.
My Ft1000MP works well  it transmits and receives on all modes except when I 
switch to CW the speaker gives a loud tone, instaed of the normal background 
static.
This only appears to have happened recently.
I may have a control not set correctly.
Can someone help me please so I can get back onto CW.
