[Yaesu] FT-1000D display noise

My "new" FT-1000D has noticeable display and button noise in the main RX when 
in SSB and BW at 2.0 or 2.4 KHz when no antenna is attached. I do not notice it 
at narrower bandwidths on CW. It is unaffected by front end setting but is 
affected by RF gain. Not a critical problem, but annoying. Anyone else have 
experience with this?
