[Yaesu] How to use a 5400 controller to control a G-1000 rotor?

Hi,
Anyone knows how to mod a Yaesu 5400 to control  a G-1000DXA rotator?
I need  to use a heavy azimute rotator. Is it possible to replace the 
G-400 rotator by a G-1000 using the same controller?

Any help would be appreciated.
