A common failure mode in the Quadra VP-1000 PSU is the destruction of
resistors R2A, R2B and R2C (5.6 ohm 5W ceramic, Yaesu part number
J31379004) located on power supply board 1. These resistors act as a fuse to
protect from mains surges when turning on the power supply. Bert N8NN has
very kindly written a repair procedure for this failure mode. Here is a
link:

My main Quadra page is http://www.ab4oj.com/quadra/main.html

The Quadra is probably the best HF amplifier Yaesu ever built. Mine is still
serving me flawlessly after more than 12 years in my station.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ
