Washington atty's make their living preparing proposals for bad and 
stupid law.  The FCC receives and REJECTS lots of really stupid NPRM and 
this idea would not be very different from other stupid ideas.

Bad law leads to less compliance, nothing more.  Well perhaps a bit more, 
less respect for law and regulation.

Perhaps the "law giver" should write the NPRM for the CB and Freebanders.

Anyone who thinks power is "bad" is welcome to join a QRP group. No one 
requires YOU to run more than 1 Watt.  

The FCC is satisfied with the Part 97 power limit as it exists. There is 
NO compelling reason for change.  Build a rig with a 4CX25000 if you 
want, it doesn't bother ME at all.  "LIVE FREE OR DIE" is still the NH 
state motto inspite of similar protests af few years ago. Eternal 
Damnation to all Do Gooders!
