About twelve years ago I bought a new pair of Eimac 3-500Z's. They operated normally for about 20-minutes; then I heard a "tick" sound and one tube was glowing bright purple, like an argon lamp. Plate current was up there with no drive. Eimac replaced it. 73, Roy K6XK -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/ampfaq.html Submissions: amps@contesting.com Administrative requests: amps-REQUEST@contesting.com Problems: owner-amps@contesting.com Search: http://www.contesting.com/km9p/search.htm |
