Are you thinking about building a pair of 4xc250b's. I have a sub assembly
that would be a perfect start. This was the modulator sub assembly from an
mackay maritime 500 khz A1/A2 (modulated cw) rig. The assy consists of a
pair of sockets (these are the sockets with the build in screen bypass) a
blower, the bias supply, and the fil supply. 2 very new 4cx250B's with
plate caps and ceramic rings.
There are HV switching relays and other parts. this unit was recertified
about 4 months before I removed it and the tubes were removed from the
spares inventory just before the FCC inspection. The unit actually was run
on mcw twice while in service, both for FCC tests.
