I agree Peter, I like HP spectrum analyzers, at home I have a 182T based one
with a 8558B plug in although the LED frequency read out is pretty poor and
is wildly inaccurate. I think that it's derived from the control voltage for
the YIG, if someone has an electronic copy of a service manual for that plug
in I would be most happy to receive it!
At work we have HP 8560 and 8590 series all over the place and we also have
those LeCroy 20GB/s (I think Le Croix may be a designer clothing label)
digital scopes which are too big! Actually I haven't seen that for a while
so perhaps someone has dropped it on their foot:-). I like almost all of the
test gear we have at work although I find R&S menu systems a bit baffling at
times. Anyway my lust for test gear has got far worse since I started
working part time where I am now. I feel sure that I will bypass the usual
purchase of a flash car upon completion of my degree (employment permitting)
and get some nice toys. I like them and I don't care what anyone else thinks
:-)
