You bet it can! Current from the anode supply enters the anode in
the usual direction (this is Ben Franklin's current, not electron
flow) and follows the arc inside the tube from anode to screen grid.
It LEAVES the screen grid and goes OUT the screen terminal to the
outside world (i.e. the screen supply), contrary to the usual
direction, and that's NEGATIVE screen current.
