[Amps] MLA-2500 Transformer

While trying to work K7C, my MLA-2500 starting "chattering".  I turned 
it off and waited for a few minutes and tried it again.  Chattering and 
sparks occur in the transformer area.  I'm sure that this is a very bad 
sign!  I thought that the finals in this amp would eventually "do me in" 
not the transformer. Any suggestions?
