I predict that near the beginning of the next century,, the NEC will
absolutely, positively require 7-conductor plugs for all 240v circuits
in order to accomodate 2 hot wires, a neutral wire, a neutral
safety-backup wire, a safety-ground wire, an emergency backup
safety-ground wire. and a spare just in case the NEC dreams up
something else, and that a new crop of Hams will get around to talking
about the good old days when the NEC actually allowed (now-verboten)
4-conductor plugs and receptacles for 240V circuits, and when the NEC
allowed Ham transmitters to run more than 100 watts.
