It's known they were pi-L networks because in 2 cases the designer told me, in
three other cases, they said so in the published conference papers, and in yet
another two cases, the data sheet says they are pi-L networks.
In transmitters specified for load SWR of 2:1 max, what other reason would they
have?
Two of the transmitters I'm thinking of had a number of resistively loaded low
VHF tuned circuits too, for parasitic suppression. They didn't have nichrome in
them though....
