Guys....
Agreed that $900-1200 is a LOT of green to part with for this sort of tube.
But rather than chase after a tube with a LONG grid lead which may or may
not be stable in your homebrew circuit on your favorite band,
why not consider it's more stable cousin, the 3XC1200Z7/YU-181?
It features a grid RING, as in ground it directly to the chassis, no
stability issues.
These show up on eBay fairly frequently and are used in commercial amps of
some sort, so are available as pulls.
Alas, If they were only as plentiful as the 8877 pulls. Still, we should all
search them out...they're great tubes.
