I used a product called PlastX bought in an auto supplies store. This is what the bottle label says: "..cleaning/polishing action to remove: light oxidation, stains and contaminants, fine scratches." They also have a web site http://www.meguiars.com/ and this polish can be found under their Products section. I was able to remove even deep scratches on my meter face. Very happy with the product.
