This sounds like good advice, I think I'm worried about nothing.  I looked in 
an old handbook which details a pair of 8873's and they are showing a B+ of 
2500 V.

I've run 4CX250s at 2800 under load before. 

Occassional TINK sounds, but otherwise was happily chuffing 700+ PEP last time 
I saw it.... 

HiPOT your tubes if you're really worried. 


Transistors have ratings, tubes have guidelines!
