##  I read both parts of this several years ago.   The guy was way ahead of his 
time!   Rich measures mentioned
about putting a scope across the B+..and watch it while you do some CW.   Its 
an eye opener.    A safer method is
to just put the scope across the last lytic in the string, the one with the  B- 
  Until you put a scope in there, you wont realize the
transient is as bad as it actually is.
