Subject: Re: [Amps] HV Diodes
Why one 3CX3000A7 amp?
## why not? If the 3CX-3000F7 is used, then NO socket is required.
If one requires more power, like 8-15 kw out, then use the slightly bigger
3CX-6000A7.
The YC-243 version is just a socketless 3CX-6000A7.
Both tubes have a 225w CCS grid diss rating..and more with grid bonded to
chassis.
You can use the grid for a dummy load for a FT-1000D.
Both have a 50 ohm input, and low IMD. You don’t require a parasitic
suppressor on
either of em. I wouldn’t mess with a roller inductor. A dual wafer model 85
or 88 switch
works great for the 3x3. The 3x6 needs 3 wafers in parallel.
Both are very cost effective tubes. IE: huge bang for the $.
