If a voltage change is needed, a buck transformer
(in the primary) won't waste power. A resistor will.
Use a transformer w/ a secondary current rating
AT LEAST as great as the amplifier's maximum current
requirement.

I have re-measured the line voltage using my bench AC Fluke meter and the
line voltage is @ 244vac.
Note to self...pitch cheap meter.
I will need to re-measure the filament voltage.
