Anybody using a quad for contesting?

KO4EW is thinking of replacing his TA-33 @ ~85' with a 2 ele quad.
Due to wind loading restrictions and lack of kilo$$$$$ we are trying
to get a better signal on 20M and think a quad might be the answer.
(open to anysuggestions)

NO Im not tring to start the quad vs yagi debate!!

If you have any personal experience with quads please send me your thoughts.

PSE reply direct, I'll summarize if theres intrest.

It has already come to my attention that the N6TR Logging program
supports two radios on one computer for SOP/2-Radio operation. I
have annotated my configuration to include the possibility of using
this scheme.

Subject: K1AR - 40th Birthday - Can this be true???
Message-ID: <Pine.OSF.3.91.950722171621.381E-100000@jekyll.sgate.com>

John,

Several CONTESTERs were gathered at WR3E's QTH (next door to W3LPL!) this
morning installing Bernie's new 110 foot tower. I'm a bit cautious about
mentioning RUMORs on Internet Reflectors, but a rumor was heard that K1AR is
about to go over the hill at the end of this month... Could this
possibly be true? Should we soon be looking for 'AR on the Geritol Net on
75M instead of on 14150.2 at 'EA?

The K1AR I remember was a teenager who operated in every July Open CD
Party, WAE, SS and every other CONTEST he could convince Phyllis (my XYL)
that he really HAD to operate in at 'LPL! This teenage 'AR spent more time
at the 'LPL QTH in each Summer than he did at his parent's house! But then
again, I also recall some 'AR remarks about the "old guy" (almost
30!) who he labored with nearly every day building the 'LPL station during
those sweltering 1970s Maryland Summers!

Well John... U have almost caught up with me! For just a few more years we
can both be forty-ish hams recalling those grand years of teenage CONTESTing
(while still winning and building super-stations too!).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY old friend! I hope your next 20 years are as rewarding for
you and your family as they I know the last 20 have been! I'm looking
forward to seeing u again soon (by the way, if u have a lot of free time,
the traditional 'LPL Summer antenna work is ongoing in full force, just like
you remember from the 70s!)

73!
Frank
